Lawen – Berlin Arabic Music Festival

The Arabic Music Initiative e.V. presents the one-day music festival Lawen – Berlin Arabic Music Festival as a platform for Berlin’s Arab music scene, embodying the successful embrace of diversity and difference. The festival brings together artists from various musical genres who have had little previous contact with each other: classical, folklore, jazz, contemporary, rock, and electronic music. Through its broad program, the festival also aims to reach different parts of the Arab-origin community and Berlin’s broader urban society. In addition to musical performances and a club night, there will be a family-friendly daytime program with activities for children, music workshops, and a panel discussion.

Under the motto “Lawen” (Arabic for “Where to?”), we want to explore together: what different experiences artists express through their music, how diverse the Arab music scene in Berlin is, and what opportunities and challenges it entails. Lawen thus becomes a place where the notion of home, in all its diversity, is celebrated — past, present, and future homes of Arab and non-Arab Berliners alike.

The Lawen – Berlin Arabic Music Festival will take place on September 27, 2025, at Festsaal Kreuzberg, Berlin.

Tickets: 12,00 € via festsaal.shop
